Lubricating Your Wheels
Before you workout or begin a race, make sure that your wheels are properly lubricated. Many racers even have new grease packed into their bearings to insure an easy glide. Make sure that if you put a liquid lubricant on the exterior of you bearing-housing that this fluid is not "incompatible" with your bearing grease. As an additional not, if you make a bit of a mess lubricating the outside of your bearing-housing, NEVER use a "degreaser" to clean this up. Some of the degreaser may get into the bearings and break-down the grease causing added friction and wear to your bearings.

Outdoor Wheel Mistake
Some skaters only have one pair of skates and simple change out their wheels when training indoors and outdoors. A common mistake is forgetting to remove your indoor wheels when training outdoors. This can be an expensive mistake and ruin your day. Always inspect your wheels before installing and at the same time, CHECK whether they are indoor or outdoor wheels. If you carry a tote bag with your gear, an easy way to remember is to put your indoor wheel in an INSIDE pocket and your outdoor wheels in an OUTSIDE pocket. Which ever way you choose to organize, just REMEMBER to ALWAYS CHECK YOUR WHEELS!
